Rabbit in the Yard Creates Fun for All

We had a jack rabbit in the bushes yesterday. We didn’t want it eating the bushes or shrubbery, so we decided to have the dogs chase it away. Showstopper Regional Results 2010

Last weekend was our annual trip to Phoenix for the Showstopper Dance competition with the other dancers from the Alma Dolores International Dance Center.

Savannah reached a big goal by winning her first ever Platinum Trophy for her Mexican Folkloric dance to “Tilingo, Lingo”. She looked very beautiful in her long white dress and flowered head piece. She won Gold awards for her Jazz solo, group Pom Pom and group Jazz. This was Steve’s

Showstopper Time

It’s almost time for our annual jaunt up to Phoenix for the Showstopper Regional Dance Competition. Suzanne and Savannah have been doing this competition for years.

Savannah usually dances a bunch of numbers with her various dance classes and then throws in a solo or two. Suzanne usually does similar but a few less.

Halloween Week Update

The kids had a fun week of Halloween Celebrations starting with a school dance on the 23rd. The school’s “Fall Costume Dance” was fun for them. Savannah went as Paris Hilton complete with blond wig and purse with a stuffed Chihuahua. Sean went as a Bank Robber, in all black sweats and a ski mask.

Football Week 2

Yes! The Lions finally win! They broke their 20 game losing streak and beat the Washington Redskins by a score of 19 – 14. And you know what, they actually looked quite good doing it. They have been steadily improving each week. While I don’t think they will win a bunch of games or make the playoffs, as a life long Lions fan, I am encouraged.

Sean’s Football Game

Sean’s football team got their season off to a start this week. As I have probably mentioned, Sean is playing for a different city this year as the old city isn’t fielding a team this year. The past years playing, they maybe had 15 kids for a game, so Sean played both ways. His team this year has 34 kids on it, so definitely less playing time.

Sean is just coming off a broken foot from a school accident.

Football Season Begins

Sean Broke His Foot

Monday morning during PE Class, Sean rolled his foot on the basketball court while playing capture the flag. It was hurting him when I picked him up from school, but he was still able to walk on it. I sent him to football practice, but after about a 1/2 hour the coach noticed that he was limping way too much. We thought it was a severe bruise at that point, so we treated it by icing

Stanley Cup Time

It’s Stanley Cup time again in the NHL and once again the Detroit Red Wings are playing for Lord Stanley’s Cup. I love watching the NHL finals, especially when the Red Wings are there. Sean’s Team Finally Wins One!!!

Sean’s team finally won a game last night. They had a combination of good pitching and smart fielding to pull out a decisive 5 to 1 victory.

Baseball Struggles Continue

Sean’s baseball team struggles continue with another loss. At least they are getting better each game and closer too. This time, the went down to defeat by a score of 10 – 7. The good new is that at one point in the game, they were actually leading 7 – 6. But once again, a change in pitchers doomed them as the other team was able to successful hit the new pitcher.

Showstoppers Weekend Again
