Cruise Talk Central Gets Face Lift
August 26, 2006
Wow, didnt know it had been two days since I posted
I guess time flies when you are having fun. I have been tied up with changing/improving the way Cruise Talk Central looks.
I have a bunch of things I want to do and the current layout was cramping my style and taking things very vertical. I decided I needed to update the appearance and spread it out a bit and go to three columns. So, I have been working that the last few days and its finally ready for primetime. If you havent visited Cruise Talk Central lately (or at all), stop on by and say hi! Let me know what you think!
A couple of quick notes…
The Texas Hold Em game for Xbox 360 is good and addictive. Working on mostly the single player game right now (tournaments against cpu and such) with an occasional foray online. My bankroll is growing, so thats good.
I havent had a chance to play Madden 2007 yet, but its moments away – just as soon as I finish this post.
Sean had a football scrimmage and was a terror on defense with at least a dozen tackles. He wasnt too happy on offense though as he had to play center since the regular kids werent there. He did so well, the coaches said they move him from fullback to the line anyways which is not what he really wants to do on offense.
Xbox 360 Texas Hold Em Poker
August 23, 2006
Hooah! Today is the release date for the Texas Hold Em poker game on Xbox Live for the Xbox 360. This date has been a long time in coming. The original release date was back in February.
A lot has changed since then too. The game was going to be free and supported by in game ads. What I have seen on the internet indicates that the lawyers got involved and were worried about putting the game in the hands of anyone who wanted it for free with the appearance of supporting gambling and having ads from online casinos. Who knows…
Anyways, the game is now available today and I look forward to giving it a try this evening when I get home from work. This will probably limit the amount of time I play at online sites on the net.
For the first 48 hours, the game is free for download. After that, there will be a charge for the game. I think this is done since the game was originally announced to be free. I am in the minority, but I wish the game had a charge the whole time. I have a bit of a concern about it being free. For free, too many non-serious poker players might get involved. There is nothing more frustrating than playing with clowns who go “all in” every hand. It tends to ruin the fun. If folks had to pay for the game, they might be more likely to be serious players.
Since I havent tried it yet, I cant confirm it, but the game is supposed to have some built in tiering system to preclude the “all in” folks from reaching the big games. We shall see…
Now all I need to do is get my Mother, “The Silent Assassin”, to get an Xbox 360 so we can match up. She likes to play on the net, but not sure how much I will join her now with the Xbox Live game.
