There must be a fine line between being a die hard fan of Star Trek and a Trekkie. I do consider myself an avid fan of the show/series/movies but wouldn’t about going to a convention or other type gathering. I don’t think bad things about those folks, but its just not me.
I think I have seen every Star Trek original series episode. I have probably seen a few less Next Generation episodes. I have seen even less Voyager, Deep Space Nine and Enterprise episodes. I have seen every single feature movie made on the Star Trek name. I have been eagerly awaiting the next Star Trek feature film.
Originally, that movie was supposed to make the theaters in late 2008 (Xmas timeframe). Today, word has filtered out that the movie has been delayed. The new anticipated release date of the movie is May 8, 2009.
This move takes us Trek fans back to the formulative years of James T Kirk and Spock. Despite the slip in schedule, I look forward to making this movie my once a year visit to a movie theater.

I’m very excited about this movie but then you know how much I love Star Trek. I’d love to see how JJ Abrams handles it. I was blown away by the date change. Now what will I do.
Fortunately, it does give my wife a chance to make uniforms to wear to the movie….oh yes, that’s right. My wife is even getting her hair done in a beehive or whatever. Haha.
What about you Papa?
