So Sean enters high school next year. Am I really that old? And has time really gone by that fast! Wow…
Even worse, we have been doing a lot of running around for both kids getting them to various events almost every day of the week. We had hoped that it would ease up a bit when they hit high school. Looks like its just going to get worse.
Yesterday, Sean went to his high school honors orientation night. Struck me as a bit odd since he still has a month to go in 8th grade. He has to make all his course selections for the next year in the next couple weeks. In addition, he wants to take what they call a Zero Hour course. Its usually athletic conditioning or band. Football summer camp also begins in a month so he wants to add in the Zero Hour course to help be in condition for sports.
For the Zero Hour course, he has to be at the school by 7:20 am. Looks like it will be me taking him to school (its 40 mins away from our house) on the way (not really) to work. So figure we leave the house around 6:30. He won’t get home from football practice until almost 7:30 pm counting the bus ride or pickup back home. So it will be quite a change for him too. Just a bit less Xbox 360 and TV time! Throw in games and other extra curricular activities, and its lots of busy times.
Guess that’s part of the price to live in the Country…
But wait… I have a kid prepping for high school??? Sheesh…
