There has been an interesting development in our upcoming cruise to Mexico on the Celebrity Mercury. There is currently a tropical storm brewing in the Pacific that is threatening the Mexican Riviera.
Currently, it is called Tropical Storm Sergio. Here is the latest from the National Hurricane Center.
If you read through the information, they have a bunch of conflicting information from the various prediction models that they use. Currently, they are not predicting that it will impact land, but may certainly cause issues for cruise ships in that area. Some models show it growing to hurricane strength, but most do not. They are being on the conservative side and have it listed as getting to hurricane strength this later this week and then dropping back to a tropical storm by the weekend, but call it a low confidence prediction. Here is the latest five day cone.
Nothing from Celebrity yet on a plan changes, so we will have to continue to monitor. Our cruise leaves out of San Diego on Sunday when they show the storm going back down to a tropical storm.
Looks as if you will have some interesting weather on your cruise–at least, you will know you are not in a hotel!

Let’s hope for smooth sailing.
You had better pack a rain slicker! :dizzy: Seriously, I hope it doesn’t affect your plans as I know you have been looking forward to the cruise. I am sure you could use a good cruise with the workload you have likely had at work over the past few weeks/months. :cocktail:
