I have a half day offsite team building session tomorrow with customers. Tonight, there is a dinner social with all of the participants. Of course, the event location is way on the other side of town. Even if it was on “this” side of town, it would be a long ways from home in Sonoita. The event location is somewhere around 1 hour and 15 minutes from home. I really didnt feel like having to go to dinner and the social, and then drive home late tonight. I would also have to get up early in the morning to make the same long drive back for the event.
So, I am just going to get a hotel room at the Westin La Paloma resort where the offsite is being held. At this time of the year because of the Tucson summer heat, the resort has some really good deals ($69 a night). Suzanne and the kids plan to go out there around lunch and check in and enjoy the resort. They have five large pools with a big slide and whole bunch of stuff for them to do. I am sure they have already been swimming as I post this.
I wont have much time to enjoy the resort, but will save hours of driving and lost sleep. I cant wait for the family reunion next week because I need some time off from work. My last vacation was at Christmas and its been a long, but fruitful, six months.
