Football Season Begins for Sean

Today is the first day of football practice for Sean. He is pretty excited as it is his favorite activity. He will again be playing in the Mighty Mite division which is tackle football for 8-10 year olds.

Last year he played Guard on offense and Defensive End on the defensive side. No telling where he will end up this year, but the line is probably a good bet, since he likes to hit and isnt exactly fast.

With monsoonal rains coming down everyday for the last two weeks here, the football field ought to be pretty muddy. I suspect, however, that the first week or so of practice will be more conditioning than anything else. After last season, Sean had committed to a workout program before the season began to make sure he was in shape. Well, that never happened, but he has been doing dance (break dance and hip hop) a couple of nights a week which has definitely helped him report looking trimmer than last year.

Savannah will also be starting her cheerleading practices this week for the football season. Suzanne is once again the cheer coach.

  2. It’s a good idea to keep the kids busy doing activities that they like. Hope they don’t go on overload. Sounds like fun.
