Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there! Mr Papa has enjoyed his Fathers Day holiday. Too bad I have to go to work tomorrow. I always wish there was another day off after these Sunday holidays.

Today was a nice relaxing day for me. I had a nice workout this morning and then set about doing some computer work. I managed to have a few hours to get some sites updated and take care of our simple:press forum support forum and resolve a few bugs that have crept up.

Its been a while since we had pizza, so I had Suzanne run out and get some pizza for lunch. It sure was good. I had buffalo wings planned for dinner, so it was a good junk food day. Throw in a bottle of wine and you have a very nice food day.

Of course, the afternoon was spent watching the US Open Golf Championship. What an exciting Championship this was. Actually, its not over yet. There will be an 18 hole playoff tomorrow as Tiger Woods sank a birdie putt on the 18th hole to force the playoff.

The evening was spent watching the Discovery HD series When We Left Earth. Its a documentary about the history of the NASA space program covering from the beginning to current. It is very well done and very enjoyable. The kids are watching it and learning about the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs. They are familiar with the space shuttle but the early programs are new to them. If you haven’t seen the series, I highly recommend it.

Oh, I also forgot about a couple of family jam sessions today. Our band Papa and the Gang is doing quite well. No, we haven’t really formed a band, but are all getting some enjoyment out of playing Rock Band on the Xbox 360. Its not my favorite thing to do, but I do enjoy a game that we can all play. There is only a handful of games we play on the 360 together, but Carcasonne, Wits and Wagers and Scene It aren’t really true video games being remakes of boardgames. Rock Band is a video game where you mash buttons and try to achieve goals as a team.

Anyways, we snapped a few pictures of our Rock Band jam session today. I have included them below. And yes, everybody but Mr Papa dressed for the occasion. Enjoy!
